Simulation of flooding of ships

A simulation method for the progressive flooding of passenger ships is developed. The external forces, such as wind and waves, are assumed to be small, and therefore, they are excluded. The main interest is in the progress of floodwater inside the ship and in the effects of the internal non-watertight structures. These structures are flow obstructions for the floodwater. The simulation method will be implemented in the NAPA-software and the existing features of NAPA will be utilized. Occurred accidents or published model test results will be used for validation of the method.
