Turbulence modelling and simulation
RANS turbulence modelling research
- EARSM modelling for complex flow effects such as:
- rotating flows
- strongly curved flows
- adverse pressure gradient flows (separating flows)
- confluent boundary layers and wakes partly in collaboration
with FOI and KTH (Sweden)
- Modelling of near-wall- and low Reynolds number turbulence
- A number of new models have been published
Turbulence simulation research
- Development of pressure-correction based code for LES and DNS
- Applications to:
- jets in cross flows partly in collaboration with Stanford University
- interacting jet systems
- instabilities in low Re pulsating flows (loudspeakers of mobile phones)
